The Creative Society is an arts employment charity that helps young people into jobs in the creative and cultural industries.
A very interesting two day conference is now under way in Gothenburg. It shows that the need to support creativity during recession is a global issue.
The “Promoting a Creative Generation” conference is part of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation and will draw together 350 experts to discuss the cultural and creativity habits of children and young people. You can watch the webcast here.
New Deal of the Mind discovered the event via the Vinspired website blog. Vinspired are a charity seeking to mobilise young people by encouraging them to participate in volunteering. Their website is full of interesting projects and is certainly worth a look.
Their blog also praises New Deal of the Mind for addressing the issue of creativity and employment during the recession in Britain, and features a link to our recently published report for the Arts Council, “Do it Yourself: Cultural and Creative Employment in Hard Times”.
We are delighted to see that the New Deal of the Mind message is gathering vital support.
