Creative industry: a cross party issue
In response to the government’s Digital Britain initiative, Shadow Culture secretary Jeremy Hunt yesterday unveiled a Conservative Party creative industries review group to examine ways of ensuring that Britain remains a creative hub for global content creation.
The role of the creative economy is a cross-party issue and New Deal of the Mind welcomes the efforts of all parties in developing Britain’s innovative and creative potential.
Headed by former BBC director-general Greg Dyke, the group of 12 will also include Brent Hoberman, founder of Lastminute.com. Brent attended our launch seminar at Number 11 last month so will be well-placed to understand the importance of putting creative industry at the heart of any government’s economic recovery plans.
